This too shall pass!!!!

For people of my generation, this is the third economic recession we are witnessing.

I graduated in the year 2002 from NIT Warangal (then REC Warangal) and we were preparing for our campus placement in final year (2001) when the situation post dot com boom hit us hard. Probably we were the second worst affected lot, the worst being our seniors, as finding a job became almost impossible during placements unless one belong to CSE or ECE stream and with good grades. At that time, the job avenues were anyways limited and alot of us went through one of the most difficult times in our professional life. Although it was a difficult time, it did teach me (am hoping everyone at that time) about how to survive and evolve. My journey from a call center executive to a founder of Bigdata company is highly influenced by that phase of life.

By the time the financial crisis in 2008 disturbed the market, I was on another juncture of life and in the process of making a major decision of life. Fortunately, I survived the cycle without a job loss. COVID 19 has started the most recent chain of events which will lead to recession for next 12 months or so and once again I am at a crucial crossroads of life. 

The reason I share these events was to let people know, specially students graduating in 2019-2020, that "this too shall pass". I am aware most of you will be praying hard at this time and some may be cursing the luck and the timing of this crisis, but always remember these will be life lessons no school will ever teach you.

As the saying goes, what doesnt kills you makes you stronger, I want each one of you to become a warrior. Fight your way out of these diffuclt times and shine like a star in next 10-20 years. There are two kind of people, one who always find excuses for their failures and others who always fight the tough times and make a way for themselves. Society call the second league of people as "Lucky", I call them 'X-Men' as they evolve and mutate as per situation to survive the crisis to win at the end.

Always, remember this is not the last recession you are going to see. The next one will come much sooner and it will again be a time when you will be making some important decisions of life. But X-Men will always be prepared to see them through to survive for the next wave of "good luck" they will earn. Just hold on to this cycle and decipher important lessons which will help you address the next cycle better.
